With today's server save, we have implemented the following changes: To ensure that only active participants gain XP during boss fights, players must now attack the boss at least once to qualify for XP sharing. Describe the visual aspects of the ensemble you envision in the designated feedback form.
It is available till May 03, 2024, 23:59 CEST. Make sure to read the rules of participation there before submitting your entry.

We will select the winning submissions together with our graphic artists, who will use them as a basis for future Store products. While they will aim to capture the spirit of your creative visions within Tibia's distinctive graphic style, certain aspects and details of your ideas may need to be altered or simplified for implementation purposes.
Please also note that it may take a while before they are added to the Store since there is no predetermined timeframe. Of course, we will mention in our news articles whenever a new Store outfit, mount, or decoration item is based on one of the winning ideas. Furthermore, even submissions not selected as winners may serve as inspiration for future designs.

We will decide the exact number of winners as we evaluate all submissions, and we plan to announce the winners and their themes in the course of May. Each of them will then receive 1500 non-transferable Tibia Coins and a CM token will be sent to the submitter's highest levelled character on main.

Balancing Project Changes Part V

welcome to the fifth iteration of our balancing project. This week, Warzones 1-3 stand in the spotlight, as we have several buffs coming to them as well as some improvements for other hunting grounds.

Oramond Mountain Hideout

  • Increased monster density

Fury Hell

  • Increased monster density

Upper Roshamuul

  • Increased monster density
  • Increased energy sensitivity of retching horror: 90 -> 103
  • Increased energy sensitivity of choking fear: 85 -> 98

The sensitivity changes will buff Upper Roshamuul as well as the Nightmare Isles and will also affect The Extension Site (MOTA).

Seacrest Grounds

  • Increased monster density
  • Increased earth sensitivity of young sea serpent: 0 -> 105
  • Adjusted the fire-feathered serpent world change
    • The kill requirement to trigger this world change was lowered from 3,000 to 2,000 seacrest serpents
    • The original state can be restored by killing 2,000 renegade quaras (instead of 1,000 as before)

Our goal is to add further dynamic to this mechanic.

Gnomegate Fungus Dungeon (Warzone 1)

  • Increased XP gain from boss Deathstrike: 35,000 -> 400,000 XP
  • Added two corridors to allow for more efficient hunts

  • Reduced mana drain damage

Gnomegate Magma Dungeon (Warzone 2)

  • Increased XP gain from boss Gnomevil: 35,000 -> 400,000 XP
  • Added a one-way teleporter in the southeastern part of the hunting ground that will bring you back to the start of the hunting ground

Infected weeper

  • decreased fire sensitivity: 0 -> -100

Our goal with this change is to prevent players from actively blocking the access to Gnomevil.

Magma crawler

  • Increased XP: 2,700 -> 3,300 XP
  • Reduced probability of melee fighting skill debuff
  • Increased ice sensitivity: 90 -> 100
  • Reduced probability and duration of invisibility

Lost berserker

  • Increased ice sensitivity: 60 -> 90
  • Removed invisibility
  • Reduced probability of applying drunken
  • Reduced mana drain damage

These changes will also buff Gnomegate Crystal Dungeon and will also affect Lower Glooth Factory East and Lower Glooth Factory West.

Weeper

  • Increased XP: 4,800 -> 5,200 XP
  • Will no longer retreat at low health
  • Reduced strength of speed debuff

Lava golem

  • Increased XP: 6,200 -> 7,600 XP
  • Reduced mana drain damage

These changes will also buff The Extension Site (MOTA).

Gnomegate Crystal Dungeon (Warzone 3)

  • Increased XP gain from boss Abyssador: 35,000 -> 400,000 XP
  • Added a one-way teleporter in the northeastern part of the hunting ground that will bring you back to the start of the hunting ground

Ironblight

  • Increased XP: 4,400 -> 4,800 XP
  • Removed invisibility
  • Increased energy sensitivity: 75 -> 95

Orewalker

  • Increased XP: 4,800 -> 5,500 XP
  • Reduced probability and duration of applying drunken
  • Reduced probability and damage of mana drain attack

Cliff strider

  • Increased XP: 5,700 -> 7,100 XP
  • Increased energy sensitivity: 0 -> 95
  • Decreased probability of mana drain attack

Fixes and Changes

ith today's server save, we have implemented a few changes that should catch your attention:

  • We have made some changes to the Monster Reference Level. The Monster Reference Level was originally introduced with the summer update 2023 to make the Rotten Blood hunting ground more difficult for characters under a certain level cap. The lower the level below the cap, the more damage the character takes. This formula has now been tightened: The damage is a bit reduced for the first 100 levels beneath the cap, but then it begins to increase at a much faster rate.
  • Bakragore's Rotten Charge now deals an additional 1250 agony damage to all players in the boss room when it is dropped. In combination with the tightened Monster Reference Level, it is now advisable to only approach certain hunting grounds from a certain level onward. Anything else is like volunteering for a mission with no return.

In addition to Rotten Blood, the Monster Reference Level is currently active for the bulltaurs and Nimmersatt and can and will probably also be used for future creatures and hunting grounds.

Spring into Life

nce again it is that time of the year when dragon mothers hatch their eggs to send out their dangerous breed to set the Tibian lands on fire.

From today's server save on until April 23 (server save), almost every dragon lair will be filled with newborn dragon hatchlings.

Sharpen your blades! Sharpen your shiver arrows! Get your avalanche and icicle runes! Show them that Tibians are not afraid of fire, but beware: more hatchlings will follow and get out of their eggs until the dragon breeding season is over again! As a reward for your bravery, every dragon hatchling will yield 25% more experience.

In addition, five surprise nests are hidden in most of the Tibian cities and with some luck, you might find something nice in them. Furthermore, rabbits, chickens, and silver rabbits are dropping colourful eggs. During this event, you can also buy them from Imalas, Maria, and Bonifacius.

Panel about Tibia at Gamescom Latam

rom June 26 to 30, 2024, the first gamescom in Latin America will take place at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo, Brazil. The gamescom latam is the combination of gamescom, the largest games event in the world, with the BIG Festival, the largest games festival in Latin America.

We are excited to announce that two of CipSoft's managing directors, Steve and Ben, will talk about Tibia's incredible and adventurous journey in a designated panel there - a journey greatly influenced by the dedication and enthusiasm of the Brazilian Tibia community.

As one of the four creators of Tibia and one of the founders of CipSoft, Steve has been with the game from the very beginning. Ben, though not directly involved with Tibia, has witnessed its evolution from a close perspective. In the panel, they will reflect on the early days of Tibia, offer a glimpse into the development and the challenges of the game's 27-year legacy, and also share a few entertaining anecdotes. 

The panel will take place on Saturday, June 29, at the gamescom latam journey stage. The exact time is yet to be announced. If you are interested in attending, please check the official schedule on their website once it has been published.

Balancing Project Changes Part IV

welcome to round four of our balancing project. Our focus for today's patch is on the hunting grounds that were buffed in the previous weeks. Based on your feedback, we have made additional adjustments to improve your gaming experience within these areas.

Increased experience gain from the Ruthless Seven minions and Ferumbras

We have decided to further increase the experience of all main bosses and Ferumbras.

  • Plagirath experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Zamulosh experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Mazoran experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Razzagorn experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Ragiaz experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Tarbaz experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP 
  • Shulgrax experience: 250,000 –> 500,000 XP
  • Ferumbras Mortal Shell experience: 500,000 –> 2,000,000 XP

Grounds of Undeath

Undead dragon

  • No longer retreats at low health
  • Increased experience: 7,200 -> 7,500 XP

Blightwalker

  • Increased experience: 5,850 -> 6,400 XP

This will mainly buff the Grounds of Undeath.

Grounds of Fire

The newly added passage is now a bit broader and we also increased the monster density in this area of the hunting ground.

Hellfire fighter

  • Increased experience: 3,400 -> 3,800 XP
  • Further reduced the probability of the fire bomb

This will mainly buff the Grounds of Fire and will also affect Fury Hell, the Pits of Inferno and others.

Medusa Tower

  • Moved teleporter exit one layer up
  • Replaced some omnivoras with serpent spawns on the lower levels and added some medusas/serpent spawns on the higher levels

Okolnir

Frost dragon

  • Reduced duration and probability of speed debuff

This change will mainly buff Okolnir but will also affect Chyllfroest Icefire Caves.

Bounacean Lion

Crypt warrior

  • Decreased damage output by approximately 8%

This change will mainly buff Bounacean Lion.

In addition, we have also made the following adjustments:

Deep Desert

Skeleton elite warrior

  • Increased experience: 4,500 -> 4,800 XP

Undead elite gladiator

  • Increased experience: 4,740 -> 5,090 XP

This change will solely buff Deep Desert.

Gloom Pillars

We have adjusted the dark energy discharge as follows:

  • When a knight or paladin is the initial target, the damage increase per jump has been reduced from 50% to 37%
  • When a sorcerer or druid is the initial target, the base damage has been reduced from 2,250 to 900 and the damage increase per jump has been increased from 50% to 90%

This should lead to an overall reduction of the chain damage and especially the distribution between the four vocations should be more in line with their respective hit points.

Exaltation Overload 

longside the well-known Double XP/Double Skill, Double Loot and Rapid Respawn events, we are happy to unveil a new exciting and beneficial boost event for you: The Exaltation Overload.

Between the server saves of April 12 and April 15, players will enjoy significant advantages, linked to the Exaltation Forge:

All players, regardless of their equipment, receive at least the bonus effects that are on Tier 2 items (Onslaught: 1.05%, Ruse: 1.03%, Momentum: 4.05%, Transcendence: 0.27%). This chance adds to already existing ones. 

This surge in strength could come in handy, as the event sees a doubling in the peak number of fiendish monsters active in the game world simultaneously, while their respawn times are slashed by half. Moreover, the rate at which influenced monsters spawn is also doubled.

Examples for bonus effect changes:

A character carries a Tier 4 weapon and therefore has a 2.45% Onslaught chance. While the event is active, he has a 2.45% + 1.05% = 3.5% Onslaught chance.
A character carries a non-tiered weapon and therefore has a 0% Onslaught chance. While the event is active, he has a 0% + 1.05% = 1.05% Onslaught chance.
A character does not carry a weapon and therefore has a 0% Onslaught chance. While the event is active, he has a 0% + 1.05% = 1.05% Onslaught chance.

We hope that this new event will broaden the variety of bonus events available to you, adding even more richness to the vibrant daily experience of Tibia.

New Open PvP/Optional PvP Worlds

s already announced, we are excited to open up three new game worlds that are located in the Oceanic region to improve the gameplay experience for our players from this part of the world.

On Wednesday, April 10, the following Optional PvP game worlds will be set up for Oceania:

Oceanis (OCE)

Stralis (OCE)

Additionally, a new Open PvP world will be introduced:

Victoris (OCE)

These worlds will be protected by BattlEye. Victoris and Stralis will be blocked for character world transfers for a significant amount of time, while Oceanis will be open for character world transfers from the start. After a trial phase of at least 12 months to give these game worlds sufficient time to evolve, grow and hopefully flourish, we may re-evaluate the situation. For more information please check the initial announcement.

Initially, only Premium accounts will be able to play on Victoris and StralisOceanis will be open to Premium and free accounts right from the start.

Rapid Respawn Weekend

Oceanic Game Worlds

'day, Tibians! This is not an April Fools' joke.

We are thrilled to share exciting news with our dedicated players in Australia, New Zealand, and across the entire Oceanic region. We see you and we appreciate you. We see and appreciate the loyalty and the patience you have shown for so many years, enduring high latency that has significantly impacted your gameplay experience. After years of careful consideration, your passion and endurance have inspired us to take a meaningful step towards you, acknowledging and valuing your feedback:

Within the next weeks, we plan to set up two Optional PvP game worlds and one Open PvP world which are located in the Oceanic region to improve the gameplay experience for our players from this part of the world. Specific information on the launch date of these worlds will be provided soon.

Victoris (Open PvP) will be blocked for character world transfers for some time.

Oceanis (Optional PvP) will be open for character world transfers from the start.

Stralis (Optional PvP) will be blocked for character world transfers for some time.

The game worlds will be protected by BattlEye. Stralis and Victoris will have the status of a game world initially protected by BattlEye (green BattlEye symbol), while Oceanis will have the yellow BattlEye status.

Initially, only Premium accounts will be able to play on Stralis and Victoris, while Oceanis will be open to Premium and free accounts right from the start.

We want to emphasise that we cannot guarantee that Oceania will become an established, lasting server location or that further game worlds will be launched there. After a trial phase of at least 12 months to give these game worlds sufficient time to evolve, grow and hopefully flourish, we may re-evaluate the situation. Factoring in various criteria such as game world population and community interest, for example, we will then decide on the best course of action to proceed. In case the Oceanic server location does not prove viable enough, it is possible that we may decide to merge Stralis into Oceanis, relocate the servers to North America or merge them with North American game worlds at some point in the future.

We hope that the Oceanic community welcomes and embraces this opportunity and we are curious to see how Victoris, Oceanis and Stralis will unfold. Thank you for your enduring support and for staying with us to see this happening!

The Ultimate Boss Analysis 

ear Tibians!

Instead of a full-blown April Fool's joke that would be debunked by our resourceful players in no time anyway, we decided on another alternative. Inspired by spring's visit, we wondered how players might dress to impress when visiting bosses. To do this, we looked at the data from all game worlds from January 01, 2024 to March 14, 2024.

Dress for Glory!

First of all, these statistics should cater to everyone in Tibia, from the fashion-conscious and clothing aficionados to the everyday folk, seasoned fighters, and elegant wizards - truly, it is for all. We asked our experts to take a closer look at some of the most famous and infamous bosses. In this case it was specifically about which outfits were worn most of the time during a boss fight. Trust us, we uncovered psychological complexities that were beyond our expectations.

The following insights were revealed:

Ferumbras' Ascendant, a special form of what may possibly be the most legendary boss in Tibia, a villain from bygone days and a central figure in many nightmares, appears to have particularly attracted the animosity of the middle class. The Citizen outfit was by far the most common choice for battling Ferumbras as he prepares to ascend to become godlike, with the Mage outfit coming in next. The Revenant, Pharaoh, and Retro Warrior outfits follow in the subsequent positions, albeit with significantly less combat time.

The Pale Worm has evidently become a favoured target among those who wear the Knight outfit, engaging in battle for durations more than triple that of the second-ranked Mage outfit. As Sir Sigfried of Freudenberg, a Tibean psychologist would ask, 'what do the Knights have to compensate for that makes them so angry at this huge worm?'.

Goshnar's Megalomania is a strange one. The Oriental outfit emerged as the most frequently worn choice by a significant margin, being three times as prevalent as the runner-up Poltergeist outfit. The Fire Fighter, Warrior, and Assassin outfits come next in the ranking. What in the world has gotten into you? Could it be that Goshnar needs some extra legroom that only harem pants can provide?

Lloyd once again proves to be a particular favourite among players wearing the Citizen outfit, who ventured into battle against him more than three times as frequently as the next group of players. No wonder, since he carries a frying pan on his head, which no middle-class Tibian household should be without.

Bakragore, one of our latest bosses, shows a tight competition between two preferred outfits: The Hand of the Inquisition outfit slightly leads over the Lion of War outfit. Trailing behind in the subsequent positions are the Assassin, Citizen, and Summoner outfits. This one is obvious: The Hand of the Inquisition are a hidden guild with knowledge passed down through cryptic whispers in shadowy corners of the Tibian world, while adherents of the Lion of War might be their rivals. Or their allies. 

The World Devourer also tends to be most commonly faced by Citizens. This beast of a boss seems to be the chance for normal residents of Tibia to make his deeply rooted unconscious desires of fame and adventure come true. Just keep it up, dear Citizen, just keep it up. Saving the world is almost everyone's dream.

Scarlett Etzel tackles most often players wearing the Assassin outfit, with Mage and Citizen outfits following closely behind in popularity. You need to shed light on why the lady who wields a whip is so deeply intrigued by the Tibian hitman. The fact that mages and citizens are attracted to it is hardly shocking.

Grand Master Oberon, Scarlett's brother encounters fighters most commonly clad in the Citizen outfit. This has all the hallmarks of your everyday Joe's dream to give the high and mighty a taste of gravity.

Lord Retro is primarily battled in the Warrior outfit, strangely the normal, not the Retro Warrior outfit. 

Drume in contrast has to deal with Retro Warriors most often. Perhaps you can rectify this in the future. Simply switch the outfits for these two bosses, or switch the bosses for the two outfits.

Lady Tenebris frequently goes up against those wearing the Dragon Knight outfit. What first appeared as a whimsical dalliance between the enchanting sorceress of the shadows and the formidable dragon knight swiftly escalated into a duel to the end. Just your average Tibian first date.

What does all this tell us? No idea, but it sounds interesting. Maybe you can shed some light on the matter in the news ticker thread. Perhaps you could also exchange advice on how to battle Tibias' bosses the most fashionable way.

A Chylling Experience

ear ye! Hear ye! An icy bridge reaches toward an isle of frost and hidden fire, with cold-hearted monsters grim and dire.

A cold storm is coming from the north. The howling wind whispers stories of an old and forgotten frozen island. What was once a lush and beautiful paradise is now an everlasting ice desert dominated by various kinds of monsters. Deep down inside the isle and locked in ice, a once so proud race – the ursagrodon – is sleeping and vigilantly waiting to be freed again...

From April 01 on until May 01, the island Chyllfroest will be accessible once again for all Premium players. West of Svargrond, an icy bridge has formed. This bridge makes it possible to access this special island. You will find different dungeons with various creatures for different level ranges there.
If you are exploring Chyllfroest deeper, you might also find one of the famous frozen ursagrodons which can be thawed and tamed with some luck.

But beware: Rumour has it that yetis have been seen on this island before, too.
