Open Beta Test Ahead
e have great news for you today, Tibians! The open beta test for the Flash client is going to start this Thursday, May 26, in the course of the day, and all players who had premium status today at 10:00 CEST can join the test. In addition, all testers from the closed beta tests are automatically invited as well.

Recently, we already provided some information on the progress we have made since the end of the closed beta test. Except for import and export options which will not be available yet, the open beta test will include almost all features that were still missing in the closed beta test: the quest log, the safe trade, the rule violation report system, preloading functions, and the amazing new loading screen, of course. In order to bridge the waiting time until Thursday a bit, we have prepared a screenshot of the chat console for you to show you how it looks if you split up the chat console in the Flash client to follow two channels simultaneously.

So, last but not least for today, we have put together the minimal system requirements for the first release version of the Tibia Flash client. Of course, further operating systems and browsers, for example, might be added in the future.

  • Operating System: Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP
  • Browser: Internet Explorer 8.0 (or higher), Mozilla Firefox 3.6 (or higher), Google Chrome
  • Flash: Adobe Flash Player 10.2 (or higher)
  • Hardware:
    • 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium 4, AMD Athlon 64 3400+ or 1.6 GHz Intel Core Duo (or higher)
    • 1 GB of RAM
    • 42 MB free space on your hard disk (+ approximately 150 MB for the complete map files)
  • Internet connection

  • We would also like to inform you that the open beta test will not be the last testing milestone of the Flash client. After due consideration, we have decided that the Tibia Flash client will be launched as a beta version first. This means you will be free to use it to play Tibia on the regular game worlds but we advise you to use it with caution since the client will still be in a testing phase. So if you prefer to stick to the current Tibia client, you are free to continue playing with that client, of course.
Please also do not worry if you do not meet the system requirements mentioned above. The current Tibia client will continue to function properly, both clients will coexist for now and you can play Tibia with the client of your choice.

Further details about the open beta test will follow on Thursday. Are you excited yet? We are! And we are looking forward to the open beta test with you.
