Compensation
oday, we have activated a proxy solution via Prolexic, a well-known specialist in DDoS mitigation, to increase our protection against DDoS attacks. As Tibia's lead product manager Craban already explained in his blog, this proxy solution is a temporary measure until our final setup with Prolexic will be completed. This might still take a few weeks, but rest assured that we will inform you as soon as we have reached this milestone.

We are positive that with Prolexic in place and with the help of their DDoS mitigation expertise, the level of reliability and availability of our servers will increase significantly. Even though the temporary proxy solution via Prolexic may still result in small latency issues for some of you, we already expect a considerable improvement of the current DDoS situation. Therefore, we have issued the manual compensation today to make amends for the losses and frustration you had to put up with during the last weeks. The compensation addresses both PvE deaths and lost premium and hunting time. Here are the details:

PvE Deaths

Time frame for which we compensate: August 01, 2013, 0:00 CEST, until September 06, 2013, 10:00 CEST.

Upon your next logins to the game, all characters that are out of Rookgaard will be compensated for any PvE death within the aforementioned time frame which was not already mitigated or compensated by our automatic detection of connection issues. For each PvE death, you will get back the experience, skills, and blessings (as blessing charms in depot) you lost.

Vouchers for Premium Time and Double XP/Skill Time

Time frame for which we compensate: August 01, 2013, 0:00 CEST, until September 04, 2013, 19:00 CEST.

Accounts that were premium for at least two full days (48 hours) within the aforementioned time frame have received the following compensation for their lost premium and hunting time:
  • A voucher for about 50% of the premium days which ran out within the aforementioned timeframe can be activated at your convenience.
  • A voucher for 17 days of double XP/skill time. Can be activated at your convenience and is account-based so it applies to all characters on your account. Just like premium time, double XP/skill time cannot be paused once activated. Once you have activated it in your account management, the time will start ticking off upon your next login to the game.
  • A slider bar in your account management allows you to extend the duration of your double XP/skill voucher by trading in some or even all of the premium days you received as compensation. You will receive 4 additional days of double XP/skill in exchange for 1 premium day. Please note that you cannot adjust the vouchers anymore if one of them has been activated.

Accounts that had premium status within the aforementioned time frame but for less than two full days, have received a voucher for 17 days of double XP/skill time as compensation for their lost hunting time. The voucher can be activated at your convenience and is account-based so it applies to all characters on your account. Double XP/skill time cannot be paused once activated. Once you have activated it in your account management, the time will start ticking off upon your next login to the game.

Accounts that did not have premium status at any point within the aforementioned time frame but logged into the game at least once since July 01, 2013, have received a voucher for 5 days of double XP/skill time. The voucher can be activated at your convenience and is account-based so it applies to all characters on your account. Double XP/skill time cannot be paused once activated. Once you have activated it in your account management, the time will start ticking off upon your next login to the game.

The vouchers for Premium Time and Double XP/Skill Time will be available on your account management page on your next login. The compensation for the PvE deaths will start on Monday, September 09, 2013. Please note that the compensation process for your PvE deaths is very time-consuming since a lot of dates and information are involved. Therefore, it can take up to several days until the whole compensation for your PvE deaths is done.

We hope that this compensation will soothe the disappointment and frustration you had to endure over the last weeks, and that it will help you to recover your losses.
